What’s going to happen to RiffTrax?
RiffTrax isn’t stopping anytime soon! You may notice fewer feature-length releases on our site while we’re in production on these Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes, but we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled RiffTrax-ing after we wrap. We have some new riffs already in the can to hold you over while we’re hard at work!

Will there be RiffTrax Live in 2026?
We are taking a break from our traditional “RiffTrax Live” shows this year to focus on making these new episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000. While there won’t be a RiffTrax Live event this year, we ARE planning to have a Fathom Event for one of these episodes in theaters where we can all get together in person to celebrate and enjoy this historic return of Mike, Kevin and Bill to the Satellite of Love! Are these four episodes all we can expect?
For this year, yes. We chose four because it’s a number of episodes that we’re confident we can make, and make them great — a real, satisfying batch of MST3K that fits within our production calendar at RiffTrax. Doing this many allows us to produce four really funny episodes that we can all be proud of, that you will love, and have them all done on schedule and in your hands this year. If this project goes well from start to finish, who knows what the future holds?

What titles can we expect?
We’ve already selected four incredibly fun movies that would have fit right in during the classic MST3K days. We are in the process of finalizing the rights, and this Kickstarter page will be the first place we announce the titles!

How and when will these episodes be released?
Our current plan is to premiere the first episode through a Fathom Event in theaters across the country, and soon thereafter to all backers at the EXPERIMENT 01 level and higher through RiffTrax.com. The other episodes will follow in a regular schedule after that.

If you’re making these episodes anyway, then what is the Kickstarter needed for?
MST3K: The RiffTrax Experiments will be an expensive undertaking, so we definitely do need your financial support to make it work. But we’re not pinning the success or scope of this project to a specific fundraising goal, and WILL find a way to work with whatever budget your generous Kickstarter funding allows. We know how supportive the Kickstarter community has been for us over the years, and we want to use this campaign as a central nexus where ALL Backers can join us for the journey: from planning to production to premiere. We’ll give backers of every level regular updates as to what’s happening so we can all share in this exciting endeavor together.

Why is the funding goal only $20,000?
We’ve chosen the $20,000 goal in commemoration of our 20th anniversary at RiffTrax, and we’re hopeful we will far exceed that amount because we do need this funding to produce The RiffTrax Experiments! RiffTrax AND YOU are funding these new episodes.
No matter the final amount raised, we’re going to make the episodes the best we can with the funding we receive through Kickstarter and we truly appreciate your generous support.

Will these episodes be made available on the Gizmoplex?
We don’t manage the Gizmoplex, so we can’t answer that. What we do have is a secret server, protected by a dragon, and these new experiments will be hosted there, for you to download or stream via RiffTrax.com.

Can I pledge for a Name or Photo reward as a gift?
Absolutely! After the Kickstarter ends, we’ll send out a Reward Survey asking for information such as the name you want to appear on the Thank You page, and for other personalized rewards like the Your Name In The Credits or Your Face On The Big Screen.

If I pledge for the Blu-rays, will I get the digital version too?
The short answer is: YES! Each pledge level “stacks” — meaning, each tier starting at the $30 “RIFFTRAX BONUS PACK” includes everything from the previous (lower priced) tier. So pledging for the BLU-RAY PACKAGE gets you all the items from the prior tiers: the Thank You Page, RiffTrax Bonus Pack, All Four Digital Episodes (plus the Fathom Premier), and those Blu-rays! The next pledge level, the PIN SET tier, includes everything from the BLU-RAY PACKAGE, and so on.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
